Conservatives running scared over Council Tax

Whilst the Liberal Democrats are campaigning to Scrap Council Tax the Conservatives are still thinking about tinkering with the tax. The Liberal Democrats say "Council Tax needs scrapping rather than just tinkering with, Council Tax was of course introduced by Michael Howard when he was a Cabinet Minister."

The Conservatives have called for re-evaluation to be scrapped but Michael Howard repeated his backing for council tax, saying "The Council Tax is the best form of local taxation there is."
