Councillor Tariq Khan chairs Birmingham Eid Mela Committee

With preparations underway Birmingham's Eid Mela on Sunday 26 June, Liberal Democrat Councillor Tariq Khan has praised the effort and hard work of Birmingham's Muslim communities. Councillor Khan (Washwood Heath ward) Chairs the Birmingham Eid Mela Committee.

The Eid Mela will take place at Cannon Hill Park will once again host the Birmingham Eid Mela, it will take place between Midday and 8pm on Sunday 26 June. The event, now in its seventh year, attracts around 30,000 visitors from Birmingham and beyond as people travel to the city to enjoy the showcase and celebrate the arts and traditions of the Islamic culture.

Councillor Tariq Khan, Chair of the Birmingham Eid Mela Committee commented 'Birmingham Eid Mela simply could not happen without the effort and hard work of Birmingham's Muslim communities and the support of Birmingham City Council. We are proud to offer a platform to showcase Islamic Arts and Culture to the people of Birmingham and beyond.
