Former Rover workers need appropriate jobs

Labour's Work and Pensions Minister Margaret Hodge is under fire for saying former MG Rover workers could find jobs at supermarket giant Tesco in an interview with a West Midlands newspaper.

Nicola Davies, Liberal Democrat candidate at the General Election said "These ill judged remarks by Margaret Hodge will be of little use to former Rover employees. The workers should be encouraged to find jobs where they can use their engineering and other skills. The Government should do all it can to create appropriate employment opportunities for these highly trained workers."
