Liberal Democrats call for Tax Credits system to be simplified and appeals be allowed following the fiasco4.00.00pm GMT Sun 18th Sep 2005
In the first motion of the 2005 Autumn Liberal Democrat Conference, the Liberal Democrats have passed a motion calling for Tax Credits system to be simplified and appeals be allowed following the fiasco earlier this year. David Laws MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions opened the debate. The debate heard many examples of people who had suffered due to the chaos in the system since 2003. Overall 2million families were affected with 1.9million overpayment's made.
