Former Labour MP Terry Davies has attacked the Prime Minister's plans to further downgrade Human Rights. Mr. Davies who is now head of the Council of Europe said of Blair's it was false and dangerous to argue there was a conflict between human rights and national security.

Mr. Davies said "The ideas that human rights are a threat to public safety is false and dangerous. There is no serious evidence to support the claim that our security can only be achieved by human rights transgressions committed by the state."
