The High Court has announced the result of the recount in the Kingstanding ward from May's local elections. The BNP candidate had been wrongly announced as elected, as a result of this court action she has lost her seat and Labour have been awarded it in her place.

The Returning Officer had declared a wrong result, but under Election Law only the High Court could reverse the announcement.

Another BNP Councillor - David Enderby, in Redditch, has been charged with three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. His case has been adjourned until 1 September.
