Lib Dems in the West Midlands have launched their Regional Team of Spokespersons under the leadership of Birmingham MP John Hemming (Birmingham Yardley). John Hemming has also been appointed as the Liberal Democrat Shadow Minister for the West Midlands. Lorely Burt MP (Solihull) is the Deputy Leader of the Regional Team and will speak on Business and Enterprise in the West Midlands. John Hemming MP said: "This is our team for the regional agenda. We need to be challenging the government. In particular we will be looking at the issue of the floods and how government should be acting on climate change and the consequences for people in the region." Lorely Burt MP said: "The West Midlands is an interdependent and extremely diverse region. We have put together a team with a wide range of experience that can set out positive Liberal Democrat solutions to regional and local challenges."
