Councillor Zaker Choudhry confirmed as Birmingham’s Lord Mayor Elect for 2026–2027

The Birmingham Liberal Democrat Group is delighted that Councillor Zaker Choudhry, who represents South Yardley Ward, has been confirmed as Lord Mayor Elect of Birmingham for the municipal year 2026–2027.

Councillor Choudhry has served Birmingham with dedication for many years, tirelessly championing local communities and promoting civic pride, while remaining humble and principled.

Councillor Roger Harmer, Leader of the Birmingham Liberal Democrat Group, said:
