Cllr Roger Harmer: "Labour's cynical pre-election ploy by a Labour Party heading for a massive defeat"

Birmingham Liberal Democrat Leader, Councillor Roger Harmer's response to today’s statement by John Cotton on the bin strike:  

"There is no deal and pretending there is only threatens to make it harder to resolve the strike. A deal can only be made by senior council officers and I am told they have played no part in developing this proposal. It also needs to be approved by Cabinet and that cannot now be done before the election.

“If this deal was possible, why hasn't it been done months ago rather than leaving Birmingham's residents to put up with the strike with no recycling or garden waste collections. This is nothing short of a cynical pre-election ploy by a Labour Party heading for a massive defeat."
